A Little Bit of This, a Little Bit of That!

Hey everyone! I hope you all are having a good week as the weekend is drawing near. I can't believe tomorrow is already Saturday!

I wanted to talk about my experience in the fashion/retail world. I began working at age 14 and got into retail when I had just turned 16. I was working in the sister store of the Limited Too, known as Justice. This is where I began a collection of knowledge that I didn't think I would ever need. I stayed with Justice for over a year helping little girl's pick out outfits for first days back to school, holidays, and birthdays. I was in charge primarily of accessories when it came to floor sets, re-stocking- and mark downs. Later, I moved down the shopping mall to the Buckle. I did the same things here that I did for the younger girls at Justice, just targeted towards an older age group. I was assisting those who were in need of outfits not just for holidays and birthdays, but also for dates and special outings. Not only did I do that, but I made sure all the mannequins in the store were dressed in the proper Buckle fashions. I took a break from retail because I was becoming overwhelmed at a young age of trying to make a paycheck off of commission. I became a lifeguard but that too was short lived. When I began college I started working at a massage therapy clinic known as Massage Envy. Here I was a receptionist making sure the client's expectations were blown away. I sold memberships for massage therapy services, booked appointments, answered phones, and built relationships with not only our massage therapists but with their clients as well. Through Massage Envy, I realized how important it is to make sure there is a bond between you and the person you are working with and helping.

I was then blessed with the opportunity to work at Bridal Extraordinaire and B|E boutique. I began working in the bridesmaid department. While learning all the different fabrics and styles of dresses I also was learning all about shipment. Once the boutique opened, I also was learning all about the hot homecoming, prom, and social occasion fashions as well as mother's pieces. As time went on I was involved in fashions shows, working booths to inform the Kansas City community about Bridal Extraordinaire and B|E boutique. I have worked with important faces in the Kansas City area making sure that they have exactly what they need to look spectacular on their important day. While growing, learning, and participating in numerous shows and events, I have also stayed busy with discovering the latest trends from markets, magazines, and what the celebrities are saying about the latest fashions. They of course, have the first look at new designs.

I am here to bring you the knowledge you need to find your ideal gown for your important day. I remember the days of getting ready for Homecoming, Winter formals, and Prom. These memories will be embedded in my heart and memory forever. It is such a special day! Soon, I'll be seeing what it is like to get ready for a wedding. My sister will be getting married this coming May and I have been given the duty of Maid of Honor! Lucky for her, I work at a bridal and social occasion boutique. If you ever have any questions, feel free to leave them on our blog or find us on Facebook as B|E boutique.

Have a great weekend all!
